Easter Carol review
Hello Miss MMM reviewees boy its that time again! Easter or as I like to call it Christmas pt 2 where we celebrate the sacrifice of Jesus and the resurrection. What better way to celebrate rhe holiday qith an easter classic. THE EASTER CAROL by none other then BROCOLI CELRY GOTTA BE VEGGIETAlES! As per usual I will start the blog with the great and not so great stuff. At the end I'll pronounce the final verdict. Also spoiler warning for all who have not seen the easter carol from Veggietales. Also also sorry about not posting for a while. Life's been crazy but Miss MMM is back!
Darkness and boo-boos:
First scene is in a graveyard. A women puts on her hat and its filled with eggs not too much of a mess. A plastic egg is thrown at Mr. Ebeneezer. Burning down theater mention reference to star of Christmas movie. A ghost ahem sorry a vision of course ghosts aren't real. It is the grandma whose death is mentioned multiple times though its absolutely not scary more funny. A church is threatened to be torn down, Romes burning is nentioned. Two characters attempt a thievery with the same flawed logic but it is not treated as a good thing.Mr Ebenezer gets whacked by a key. Mr ebeneezer flys straight into a cross. Falling on a face. In the background of a scene calvis and milwars both try using a seesaw and its a lot of getting hit in the face and head but no one is super hurt. An angry carrot character says that if he saw Nezzar he would weave his easter basket into a fish-hide but he immediately takes it back after a look frlm Mr and Mrs. Asparagus.A sick kid is implied that dying is sure possibility if none intervene and his grave is seen in a vision. Talks about the crucifixion and a picture is shown but thats expected of the easter story and its not gory. A their steals in a vision but it's seen as a bad thing.
The egg factory blows up
Bad word use:
None except a few petty insults like silly, Old man nezzar. There is a joke that a cardboard figure of the character is fatter then the original, bugging, a bug. Miser, scrooge, first class stinker. Old colscal, Old sour Nezzar. Ninny. Strange
Potty humor: None
Central values and moral lessons:
The importance of understanding Easter and its true meaning. Jesus's crucifixion and ressurection. Listening to others.
Love-Dovey things:
Just a married couple hugging. All other parts shown is God, friend, and family love.
Clavis does kiss the ground after being flung from rooftop to rooftop but it's just a joke.
Too little clothing:
Only 2 instanced. All wear modest clothing. In an invention a male bunny is shown wearing a suit without pants but nothing explicit is shown. Jesus on the cross just wears a loincloth again nothing is shown
Animation: The 3-d style animation never fails to disappoint from every expression being pictured on the characters to the beautiful glass windows.
Music: All of the songs are fun and catchy. The best one has to be hope's song its beautiful and tells the entire story of the good news.
Refrences: For those extreme veggietales fans, they have placed at lest 3 easter eggs to other movies. Such as the mention of chocolate bunny factory from rack, meshach, and benny movie mention. The famous Call the police line from Mr.Asparagus from Larryboy and of course the Star of Christmas prequel to this movie.
My final rating is 100/10 milk chocolate green m and ms. Honestly what else should anyone expect from this brand?
They are the best at taking classic stories and giving them their own twists. This movie is no different whether you are a die-hard Veggietales fan or if you've never heard of it before in your life. This movie is always a fun one to watch.
This Miss MMM signing off with a 2 minute easter video from Micah Super Vlog for kids who cant bear to sit still especially when they are on a sugar high. Has a joke at the end asking where does the easter bunny get eggs
